About Us

Norwood Association is a non-profit organisation, which provides community mental health outreach services.

Norwood provides rehabilitation services to adults (16-64 years of age) who live with mental health issues and resulting disabilities, residing within the communities of Brimbank, Melton and Sunbury.  The services provided to clients are via rehabilitation and recovery practitioners.

Our services target people with chronic and enduring serious mental illness and associated psychiatric disability. We focus on addressing the impact of mental illness on a person's daily activities and the social disadvantage resulting from illness. Our practitioners work within a recovery and empowerment model to maximise people's opportunities to live successfully in the community.

We are funded via two government sources - Commonwealth and State. Our Commonwealth funding has been granted for the Personal Helpers and Mentors Program and our Sate funding provides community based mental health services to three distinct areas within the metropolitan region of Melbourne.

We exist to assist people on their journey to recovery.

We aspire to reach more people by expanding our programs and diversifying our support services.
