Brimbank Carers Group

Carers, do you feel confused, exhausted and overwhelmed?

Carers, do you have trouble coping and need more information?

Carers, do you feel you would benefit from talking with another carer, being understood by others or simply having a social outlet?

If you have answered yes to any or all of the above, then the Brimbank Carers Group is for you.

The Brimbank Carers Group aims to provide carers with support, information, understand and knowledge to cope with and manage mental illness and its' effects.

The group provides an avenue for carers to:

  • take time out from their caring role
  • talk openly and freely with others who have had similiar experiences
  • learn about mental illness and coping mechanisms
  • learn about the relevant services and how to access them
  • develop friendships and combat isolation.

The Brimbank Carers Group achieves these aims with meetings comprising of:

  • guest speakers
  • community outings
  • information sharing and support
  • dinners
  • relaxation and stress management

We welcome new carers to join the group and there is no cost involved. We meet on the first Tuesday of every month.
