ONE IN FIVE ADULTS SUFFER FROM A MENTAL HEALTH DISORDER Up to 50% of adults will experience a mental health disorder in their lifetime. Given this statistic, it is likely that you will experience a mental health crisis at home, work or in a public area.
Would you know what to do? Mental Health First Aid skills are not taught in standard First Aid courses. Our trained instructors, who are all experienced mental health practitioners, can help you identify symptoms, causes and risk factors and teach you how to identify and respond to someone who may be suicidal, experiencing a panic attack or acute psychosis.
Our Mental Health First Aid courses can be run over two days or delivered in four sessions of three hours each. Our course is suitable for 15 – 20 people and while we offer public courses, they can also be customised to suit your organisational needs. Participants who complete all units will receive a Certificate of Attendance from the Mental Health First Aid body, auspiced by Orygen Research Centre – University of Melbourne.
